It’s that time of year! Time to subtly hint to your hubby about what you want for Christmas. Or maybe not? I was recently reading a marriage blog that said we shouldn’t be subtle (or expect) our hubbies to know what we want. We need to be honest and tell them exactly how we feel (in a loving way), and take out all those unfair “read my mind” expectations. And I have to say I agree. Which means if you’re a Food Allergy Mom that cooks and bakes as much as I do, this post comes at the perfect time. It’s full of my favourite food allergy baking tools and you can easily forward it to your hubby, or anybody else who needs to buy a present for you.
I’ve been a Food Allergy Mom for over ten years. Even though I have the best intentions, I still fight misconceptions about why I do what I do. And now that I'm a Food Allergy Consultant and AllerCoach, I'm realizing I'm not alone, and these are very common feelings with other Food Allergy Mamas too! Because of this, I thought I'd write it all down in hopes of giving a bit of insight into the life of Food Allergy Moms (FA Moms).
Summer is the perfect time to go over your allergy plans and make sure you're ready for the new school year. Print this list to remind you what to buy now to avoid the crunch before school starts.
My kids have never had ice cream cake. Mostly because all the pre-made ice cream cakes I've come across have peanuts or tree nuts in them (or traces of). This all changed this weekend. My daughter went to a friend's house for a birthday party and her mom introduced me to the easiest ice cream cake recipe ever (thanks, Amanda!).
